Is-Sajf jibda fil-21 ta’ Mejju u jispiċċa fl-20 ta’ Awwissu.Fis-sajf ħafna nies immorru jgħummu.Jien inħobb ngħum ħafna.L-ikatar li nħobb magħamel hu naqbes gol-baħar u ngħodos fil-baħar.

Here are some tips which can help us save water! We created this video with Photostory. Our teacher gave us pictures to colour. We took photos and then inserted them in Powerpoint where we wrote the slogans. We saved them as pictures and then inserted them in Photostory. And here is the result:
Water in Malta
The Maltese Archipelago lies in the central Mediterranean between Sicily, Libya and Tunisia. It includes a group of small islands with a surface area of 316km and a population of above 400,000. The two mainland islands, Malta (256km2) and Gozo (67km2) are amongst the world’s highest populated centres.

Natural water resources are scarce in the Maltese islands because of geographic and climatic conditions. Malta has neither any surface waters (rivers) nor any deep underground natural resources.
Malta is among the first 10 top countries in global water scarcity.
50% of our water comes from rain water most of which seeps through the rock layers till it finds the clay layer (a non-porous layer) and here it forms the water table – which is a big natural underground water reservoir. From this water table water is pumped by means of Pumping Stations and boreholes which are found all over the island.
The Water Cycle
- Evaporation is when the sun heats up water from the sea and twins it into vapour or steam and goes into the air.
- Water vapour in the air gets cold and changes into liquid, forming clouds. This is called condensation.
- Precipitation occurs when so much water has condensed that the air cannot hold it anymore. The clouds get heavy and water falls back to the earth in the form of rain.
- When water falls back to earth as rain it may fall back on land which may end up as underground water, or in the sea where the cycle starts all over again.

Underground Water
All Maltese rocks are sedimentary which means they were formed from the sand, stones and mud that settled at the bottom of the sea. In our island we find five different rocks. These are:
- Upper Coralline Limestone
- Green sand
- Blue Clay
- Globigerina Limestone
- Lower Coralline Limestone

Water seeps in through the first two porous layers, but when it comes to the Blue Clay layer, which is non-porous the water is trapped here. This is knows as the WATER TABLE. This water will be very fresh and clean as it filtered after passing though the rocks.

This water is pumped by pumping stations and put in very big water galleries from where it is sent to our homes. In 1963 the last pumping station was built in the limits of our village which is Siggiewi. It consists of a network of 6.2 km of galleries beneath the Maltese Islands.

Dan huwa video magħmul bil-Photostory. Fih sensiela ta’ ritratti kif ukoll qari ta’ silta li jiena ktibt metaflimkien mal-għalliema tagħna morna nżuru L-Imdina. Arawh!

Il-Buli
Kienet ġurnata sħuna u xemxija. Żewġt itfal jisimhom Peter u Marija qatgħuha li jmorru passiġġata sal-wied. Għaddew minn ħdejn il-pjazza, u t-tifla mill-ewwel tħajret tixtri ġelat. Peter tħajjar, u f’kemm trodd salib qabdu t-triq tal-wied. Imma x-xitan ma ħamilx. Wara l-kantuniera kien hemm tifel ieħor jismu Tommy. dan kien l-hena tiegħu jaqbad ma’ kulħadd. Dakinhar kien għadu kif qala’ għajta mingħand ommu għax ma ġabx ruħu sew. Bin-nervi kif kien, ġera għal wara t-tfal u ħatfuilhom il-ġelati minn idejhom. It-tifla qabdet tibki, u t-tifel telaq jiġri wara l-buli. Biex tagħqad, it-tifla rat pulizija għaddej u marret tgħidlu. Malli Tommy induna bil-pulizija, ra li aħjar jaħrab għax kien se jaqla’ xi għajta. Bil-fixkla, tfixkel f’xifer il-bankina u spiċċa bil-gelati ċaflisa ġo wiċċu. Kemm daħku bih it-tfal! Anke l-pulizija nfaqa jidħak bih.
Tommy tgħallem li qatt m’għandek taqbad ma tfal oħra, anzi tkun ħbieb tagħhom. Dakinhar kellu jmur u jixtrilhom ġelat ieħor.
It-tlett itfal issa saru ħbieb, u spiss imorru jimxu sal-wied, peress li missier Tommy għandu razzett fil-wied.
